Hi! I’m Michael Strickland, a music photographer and engineer based in New York City since 2008.
After graduating in 2012 from NYU with a degree in film and journalism, I was an engineer, data journalist and assistant editor at The New York Times for ten years. While there, I managed live election results, covered four Olympic Games on-location and was part of the team that won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for data coverage of the coronavirus pandemic. Currently, I’m a Staff Engineer at GitHub working on Projects.
I photograph live music and concerts in New York City and the surrounding areas, and am available for events and touring dates. Contact me anytime on Instagram or at michael.c.strickland@gmail.com. I’d love to work within your budget to document your show or event!
