Hi! I’m Michael Strickland, a music photographer and engineer based in New York City since 2008.
After graduating from NYU in 2012 studying film and journalism, I was a data journalist and assistant editor at The New York Times for ten years. During that time I worked on live election results, covered five Olympic Games and was part of the team that won the 2021 Pulitzer Prize for Public Service for data coverage of the coronavirus pandemic. I’m now a Staff Engineer at GitHub.
I photograph live music and concerts in the New York City and surrounding areas, and am available for limited touring dates and events. Contact me anytime on Instagram or at firstname.lastname@example.org, I’d love to work within your budget to document your show or event!
